The intent is to cover issues of an accounting, tax (and other more interesting items) that I come across on a week by week basis.
4 things to mention on this, my first blog.
The roll out of staging dates for Pensions Auto Enrolment, for the vast majority of smaller companies, is nearly upon us. You need to know your staging date and ensure that you are registered with a pension company ahead of that date. I will be nagging my clients ahead of their staging date – in fact have already started.
Other changes upon us are that of the presentation of statutory accounts – changing for year ends commencing after 1 Jan 2015 and again 1 Jan 2016. The aim is to cut the cost of accounts preparation, but the only thing to change is what is disclosed. The method of getting to the figures remains unchanged.
The other big (BIG BIG) change from April 2016 is the taxation of dividends. I will be contacting clients as it affects them. If you are unaware or just unsure of the rules please ask.
And finally………and this is upon us now …….the rugby world cup ! Good luck to all countries competing, especially the home nations (and one in particular).
